A diary based on my latest attempts to get a job; this time in Munich. I'm an engineering graduate (and chartered engineer) with more than 10 years' experience in IT. Over five of these years have been spent in team leading and project management roles both in the UK and abroad.

In the blood

Yesterday I went for my third session learning how to put in contact lenses.

Of no relevance except that whilst waiting I drank a complementary cup of hot chocolate.

Once I finished the drink I tried to put it in the bin. The spring-loaded lid of the bin pushed it out spinning.

As it span it showered me with drips of chocolate.

My immediate thoughts were: "bother", followed by "but I could write about this in one of my blogs".

I've since decided not to start a blog about drinking chocolate.

The last month I have been pretty busy. Moved into an apart'hotel. Then found and moved into a flat. Oh, and spent most of the time in the office. I did, however, manage to slip over to Helsinki for a christening.

Now, things have settled down and I need to start my job hunting campaign. This time whilst still employed. It'll be more a networking exercise.

And whilst doing that I'll continue to update this blog.

Paradox

Question: How can the ultimate job hunting blog be the ultimate job hunting blog if the writer has a job?

Answer: Because the job only lasts for another six months. And the best time to look for a job is when you're already in a job.

Oh, and by being updated regularly, which I'll do now that I've settled down.
